Purpose
Ellie's catalog began as a way to organize her growing collection and has evolved into a permanent archive of her original artwork.
The public catalog presents information useful to visitors and collectors. A private master record records additional details such as sales, ownership, current location, and internal documentation.
New work is added as it is completed, while earlier work is added as it is rediscovered and documented.

Documenting Earlier Artwork
While new artwork is cataloged as it is completed, earlier work can be added whenever it is found and verified.
Locate and Review
Older boxes, folders, portfolios, family collections, and exhibition photographs are reviewed.
Scan or Photograph
Flat work may be scanned, while framed or oversized work may be photographed when needed.
Measure and Identify
Known dimensions, medium, date, age, title, signatures, and history are recorded. Estimated information is labeled clearly.
Create the Permanent Record
Once documented, the work receives a catalog number and becomes part of Ellie's recorded artistic history.
